Pharmacovigilance Education and Training for the Twenty-First Century
I have carefully considered how pharmacovigilance training should evolve to meet the needs of today’s pharmacovigilance professionals. This reflection has been shaped by discussions with colleagues and prospective delegates, as well as my own teaching experience.
Our objectives are clear: to retain what has proven effective, refine or discontinue outdated approaches, and introduce new methods that align with current practice. Today, much pharmacovigilance information is readily available, including through AI-supported tools. Rather than delivering large volumes of accessible content, our focus is on helping delegates understand the information and apply it effectively to their work.
Time constraints are another key concern raised by delegates, as their work demands continue to increase. In response, our courses will be concise and focused, without compromising quality or depth. We are committed to maintaining an ongoing dialogue with our participants, working closely with them to support their professional needs and career development through world-class training that meets their needs and fits into their working lives.
High standards are central to everything we do. Our speakers are highly experienced professionals who actively work in the areas they teach. I would prefer to postpone a course, rather han compromise on quality.
The topics we cover are designed to be directly relevant to day-to-day work, supporting both organisational effectiveness and individual professional development. We will shortly announce our upcoming course programme and are confident it will meet the evolving needs of our delegates.
Our commitment remains clear: maintaining high standards and delivering training that is directly relevant to professional practice and career development.
